At the head of a sizeable in-house legal team for one of the most prominent and innovative companies in the world, Yuko Noguchi combines her legal expertise with acute business acumen, sitting on the Google Japan Leadership forum to help to strategically guide the company. An IP specialist during her private practice days, Noguchi was formerly a partner in Mori Hamada & Matsumoto’s IP department before moving in-house in 2013. Her time as a partner saw her awarded with multiple accolades from the legal industry press, evidence of the great reputation she commanded in the Tokyo legal community. At Google, as well as providing local law input, managing large-value deals and litigation strategy, much of her time is spent in cooperation with the public policy team and government contacts to negotiate on policies around platform regulations and other business-critical legislative proposals.
