What innovations have you made to the way your legal team works in the past year?

The innovations I have implemented across the legal team in the past year are a combination of in-house resources on day-to-day operational legal work, corporate housekeeping, and external counsel resourcing for larger transactions.

Which political, economic or regulatory changes have impacted your work the most in the past year?

METI’s initiatives in renewables and batteries have impacted our work. The USD/JPY exchange rate fluctuations and price inflation have been strong headwinds; METI’s new requirements on Townhall Meetings are another strong headwind against market liquidity for project developers selling projects.

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you are passionate about, and why?

Continue expansion of renewable power, ideally replacing carbon heavy and unsafe energy production sources. We all see global warming around us and our work direct impacts and mitigates it.
