What are the most significant cases or transactions that you have been involved in over the past year?

  
Over the past year, I have taken significant strides in addressing customer harassment within our organisation. I have spearheaded the development of an initial internal Customer Harassment Countermeasures Manual and have conducted multiple training sessions for all customer-facing employees. These initiatives align with the recent trend of national and local governments enacting laws and ordinances to combat customer harassment.
  
Based on your experience, what is the key to collaborating successfully with business partners? 

As a General Counsel or Senior Counsel, you may find yourself interacting with senior-level executives and decision-makers. However, it is crucial to remember that successful collaboration extends beyond these interactions. Engaging with individuals at the operational level is equally important. By actively listening to their perspectives and understanding their day-to-day challenges, you gain valuable insights that can inform your strategic decision-making. Additionally, immersing yourself in their work environment demonstrates your commitment to the partnership and helps foster stronger relationships. 

Are the effects of AI on the legal world overplayed, or underplayed? 

While concerns about the impact of AI on the legal profession are valid, I believe its potential is often underestimated. 

AI can automate repetitive tasks, freeing up lawyers to focus on complex legal strategies and client relationships. It can also facilitate legal research, document review, and contract drafting, streamlining processes and reducing costs. Our legal department will start using generative AI for this limited purpose. 

By harnessing AI’s capabilities, lawyers can redefine their roles, enhance their expertise, and remain at the forefront of the legal industry’s evolution.
