First, can you please give us an idea of the sort of work your team has done recently? 

BIL is universal bank, and Luxembourgs oldest private bank (founded in 1856). It is a significant institution for Luxembourg, supervised directly by the European Central Bank. The Secretary General Office of BIL is composed of the secretary general department (corporate governance, supervisory and regulatory affairs) and the general counsel department (legal, tax, litigation and claims management) and provides assistance to all of BIL’s business and operational lines and control functions. The team is composed of highly experienced staff, with a majority of former qualified lawyers from the country’s best law firms. 

What particular industry trends are you seeing in the legal sector in Luxembourg?  

The legal sector in Luxembourg is dynamic, with quite a lot of new entrants (law firms), making it more challenging than for instance five years ago to find the right competencies and profiles to fill-in in-house positions even for major local players like BIL.
