We implemented an internal system that tells us the risk matrix of all regulations and permits. It alerts all people involved in the process and sends them the information they need to renew that permit, for example, brands, permits, and insurance.

What are some of the main trends impacting the industry sector you work in in Mexico?

Increasingly, Mexican companies face challenges due to the lack of clear bureaucratic processes. The response times of the institutions, the long procedures and the permits are increasingly expensive, which generates the need for delays in renewals and non-compliance with dates, which results in fines, extensions and even threats of corruption.

What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why?

Risk management. I feel that it is an area that should always go hand in hand with all the legal procedures of a company. Being able to determine the level of risk of not renewing or updating any of the documents helps prioritise and focus the team’s efforts on their activities.
