Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
A time in which we came up with an innovation that improved how the legal team works came with the creation of the legal partner role, in which a talented lawyer was appointed as the single point of contact with all the different internal clients. This improved communication and service, boosting the skills of the lawyers involved.
What are some of the main trends impacting the industry sector you work in in Mexico?
I truly believe that all the ESG, but especially DEI, will become more and more relevant in the insurance industry. It is urgent that we stop global warming, that we become green conscious, and we walk the talk about diversity and inclusion.
How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?
Seventy percent of our team comprises women, and we have made substantial progress in narrowing the gender pay gap. We are dedicated to empowering women to succeed in both their professional and personal endeavours, ensuring that motherhood does not hinder one’s competitiveness in the professional sphere.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, you are passionate about, and why?
I am passionate about enhancing the protection and well-being of underserved Mexicans. My goal is to bolster their resilience, improve their access to comprehensive coverage, and facilitate their entry into a better healthcare system.
