Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

We worked on the implementation of an internal tool with our IT team to automate and optimise the maintenance and monitoring of our contracts. This allowed us to ensure proper compliance with our agreements for the purpose of mitigating risks that our operations or resources may be exposed to.

Can you foresee any key developments to the way general counsel work over the next five years?

The general counsel must have a comprehensive vision of the business that allows collaboration between the business and operational areas to contain the uncertainty that is predominant in today’s market, must be resilient, and have a proactive attitude to change.

What are some of the main trends impacting the industry sector you work in in Mexico?

The constant changes in the laws in Mexico is a challenge that we must face as an industry; we must work on a strategy to prevent and mitigate the potential effects of these new provisions, while ensuring the permanence and profitability of the business.

I am passionate about the steel industry and its dynamism, as it constantly challenges you to innovate in order to grow and generate value to your customers or to the business.
