As lawyers, we must stay updated and aware of our capabilities and areas for improvement. This awareness allows our company to identify opportunities that can transform into benefits for our clients. In my role, alongside my team and other internal business units, we explore areas where our company can add value to our clients, helping us stand out from competitors. During periods of instability and crises, we constantly adapt and turn challenges into opportunities to collaborate and find new solutions for our internal clients. This approach has proven effective in overcoming the adversities we have faced as an e-commerce company. By aligning our legal strategy with the broader business strategy, we ensure that our actions contribute to the organisation’s resilience. This alignment helps us maintain a proactive stance, anticipating potential issues and addressing them swiftly, which ultimately reinforces our ability to serve our clients better and sustain our growth despite external pressures.

Recently, I have been involved in a variety of transactions ranging from real estate to new technologies. In the realm of real estate, I have led projects concerning the leasing of large spaces to initiate the operations of our distribution centers, not only in Mexico but also internationally. These efforts ensure that our logistical operations are efficient and scalable. On the technology front, I have spearheaded initiatives that integrate artificial intelligence into our marketplace. This integration enhances decision-making processes regarding the regulation of products that are sold, stored, and transported through our e-commerce platform. Additionally, these AI-driven projects help optimize purchasing guidance for our customers, ensuring they have the best possible shopping experience. By balancing these diverse responsibilities, I ensure that our legal strategies are aligned with our business goals, facilitating growth and innovation within our company. My involvement in these key areas highlights my ability to navigate complex legal landscapes and contribute to the company’s success in both traditional and cutting-edge sectors.

What strategies do you employ to ensure the successful digital transformation of a legal department while maintaining compliance with Mexico’s data protection laws?  

Our company is extremely careful with privacy and data protection, so any new initiative is meticulously studied with the sole purpose of protecting our clients and those who trust us with their information. Among the strategies we employ, we implement robust security programs and provide continuous training to our teams to ensure they know how to protect information from various risks. Most importantly, we educate everyone on the proper way to handle the information entrusted to us.
   

How do you manage and motivate your legal team to ensure high performance and professional growth?  

I believe a good leader in a company should excel not only professionally but also in guiding and empowering their team members. I implement this leadership approach daily by giving my team the confidence to participate in and lead strategic and important projects within our company. I also conduct regular feedback sessions to identify areas where we can all improve, focusing particularly on enhancing our service to internal clients. From my perspective, it’s crucial to listen actively and strive to make daily work enjoyable. This approach ensures that everyone feels motivated and, most importantly, heard by their leaders. By fostering an environment of trust, open communication, and continuous learning, I help my team achieve high performance and professional growth, ultimately benefiting our organisation as a whole.
