What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
I cannot speak in specific terms. The most significant transactions involve heavy commercial negotiations with clients related to the regulatory challenges that the Mexican Renewable Energy Industry has faced in recent years. Additionally, having the ability to read the industry and understand the timing for opening and closing business in different regions has been crucial.
Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
Using already available software and programmes, in coordination with the IT department, I created and successfully implemented a Legal Consultation System for the entire LATAM region. The purpose of the system was to direct better the workflow of each member of the Legal team, create a single channel of communication for different areas of the company to request support from Legal, establish clear response times, assign the correct level of priority to each matter, and measure the Legal team’s performance to determine if quarterly goals were met.
What is a cause, business-related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
The integration of sustainability into the company’s vision is a top priority for me. Since the beginning, I have ensured that my practice contributes to areas of the law that are aligned with creating a sustainable future.
