What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
In the field of regulatory compliance our team advised the company on compliance with new advertising regulations for a major marketing campaign. This included assessing the impact of the regulations on the company’s operations and developing strategies to ensure full compliance.
Relating to data privacy compliance for AI Systems, our team recently worked on the implementation of a new project involving the use of AI technology, which included a comprehensive review of data collection practices, consent requirements, and data storage protocols to ensure full compliance and mitigate the risk of regulatory penalties.
Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
One innovation that significantly improved the efficiency of our legal team was the development of the Legal Knowledge Hub, a digital library to store and share legal knowledge in a consistent way across the legal function. It is a repository of checklists, tools, policies, playbooks, recordings, training to accelerate and improve legal support, and a place to access other relevant related sites.
By implementing this hub, we have improved communication and increased overall productivity.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
One cause that I am particularly passionate about is, implementation of new technologies. The reason for this stems from my recognition of the significant impact that these new technologies have on the business, digital transformation is a foundational part of our growth strategy. I believe it is both a responsibility and an opportunity for companies to adopt privacy and security practices that minimise the potential risks related to this digital transformation and implementation of this new technologies. This includes advocating for privacy-enhancing technologies and behaviours.
