What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
At GM Mexico we are focused on continuing to be leaders in the automotive industry. Beyond important transactional cases and the analysis of new regulations, we have been involved in the implementation of new technologies and the adaptation to global markets, perhaps more than ever. Consequently, the legal department has played an important active role reinforcing our commitment to comply with all our legal obligations, developing and implementing technologic tools for our practice improvements and thinking beyond our own area to the bigger picture of our business.
Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
We have developed a tool under a software that permits GM Mexico having a standard process through which our company can identify current and future legal obligations, analyse their applicability and certify their level of compliance. With this tool GM Mexico legal team will be able to have all evidence from all business units and certify annually our level of compliance.
What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?
I am 100% aligned to all GM values and behaviors. We always put the customer at the center of everything we do. We act with integrity, and we encourage diverse thinking and collaboration from the world to create great customer experiences. As for GM behaviors, I am especially committed to creating moments every day that value backgrounds, opinions and ideas that may be different than my own. Last, but never least, I am fully encouraged to continue delivering world-class customer experiences and make solid progress toward GM’s vision of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion.
