What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?

Recently, our legal team has been involved in several significant cases and transactions. We spearheaded the creation of Mexico’s second-largest cash-to-digital network, leading negotiations with major digital financial institutions while navigating complex regulatory frameworks to ensure compliance.

Additionally, we successfully managed the company’s first acquisition in Latin America, overseeing all legal aspects of the transaction and focusing on post-acquisition integration to ensure a smooth and successful process. Furthermore, we secured a Fintech License by leading the policy, regulatory, and project management efforts, obtaining the license within a tight timeline and positioning the company for further growth in the fintech sector.

Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?

I led a successful initiative to integrate AI and automation tools into our legal workflow. This involved identifying and automating repetitive tasks, such as document review and contract analysis. By doing so, we streamlined our processes, reduced the risk of human error, and enabled our team to focus on higher-value activities. We achieved this without significant expense by leveraging existing resources and exploring open-source solutions. The implementation of AI and automation did not require a large financial investment.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

I am deeply passionate about driving financial inclusion and economic improvement through innovation in the payments sector. I firmly believe that new payment technologies and solutions can empower individuals and businesses, creating opportunities for growth and prosperity. My primary motivation is to be a business partner and enabler, working collaboratively to develop and deploy innovative payment solutions that address real-world challenges and unlock new possibilities for financial inclusion.
