The legal team at Grupo Financiero Mifel is well regarded for steering the legal affairs of this mid-sized Mexican bank which launched in 1994 after the liberalisation of the banking sector in Mexico and took the first banking concession. The in-house legal team is responsible for all legal aspects of new ventures, IPOs, M&A activity as well as its routine commercial and financial legal compliance management. It is led by Rafael García, general counsel, who having worked in the same role at UBS and Bank of New York Mellon brings considerable experience and stern stewardship to the team.
