Samsung Electronics México (SEM) is the Mexican branch of the Samsung international telecommunications and technology company a worldwide leader in the market. The in-house legal team consists of three highly skilled lawyers and an executive assistant. It is led by Daniel A. Perez-Cirera Santa Cruz, legal director, compliance and government affairs, a specialist in legal team management, and labour and product outsourcing and direct contracting. He is well known for his direct approach with public administration and the relevant telecoms contract negotiations. Claudia Castillo Rivera, senior legal counsel, is responsible for data protection, e-commerce, Internet of Things (IoT), and relevant issues in environmental matters. Her contributions have been an impulse to take SEM day by day to an increasingly higher level. Oscar Roberto Gonzalez Guillen, legal manager, is a litigation specialist and under his watchful eye, SEM has not lost a single lawsuit in over four years. So far in 2019, the team’s highlights have been the consolidation of Samsung Pay as an alternate payment mechanism, the launch of an IoT solution, an e-commerce platform, as well as the opening of five Samsung stores in Mexico.
