Giannina Marin is vice president and general counsel for Latin America at American Tower Corporation (ATC). Giannina is part of the executive leadership team for Latin America, leading the legal team in the region, overseeing all legal matters, including commercial, compliance, labor, litigation and M&A, among others. Giannina works closely with the executive team to further the ATC business, consistent with corporate goals and company policies. Giannina serves as a business partner to commercial, finance and operational teams, becoming directly involved in deal development and negotiation, positioning the Latin American region in legal as a tool to further business expansion.
As part of the leadership team for Latin America, Giannina advocates in favor of sustainability and inclusiveness, being a strong advocate for the inclusion and professional advance of women throughout ATC’s markets in Latin America. Sponsored by ATC’s diversity, equity and inclusion office, Giannina led the creation of the first employee resource group for ATC Latin America, called WAATCH, Women & Allies of American Tower Climb Higher. WAATCH will build systems of mutual empowerment among women and allies to cultivate a supportive environment and furthers training and development of women within ATC. Giannina serves as WAATCH Co-Chair for Latin America.
Giannina is known among colleagues as a mentor to team members, particularly female employees with high potential. Through formal and informal mentoring relationships, she shares knowledge, listens and seeks opportunities to showcase the skills of talented employees to the leadership team. She has promoted and strengthened a positive and inclusive company culture, where corporate leaders lead by example to engage, mentor and empower employees.
Giannina joined ATC in 2014 as senior corporate counsel for Latin America. Prior to joining ATC, Giannina practiced law in Oklahoma City, with the law firm of McAfee & Taft, PC and later the Miami office of the law firm of Holland & Knight. She received a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida, achieving cum laude. She has received several professional awards, including Florida Super Lawyers’ list of Florida Rising Stars and the Oklahoma Super Lawyers’ list of Oklahoma Rising Stars and Attorney Intel’s Top 50 Attorneys in Miami for 2023. She has also been featured in Oklahoma’s The Journal Record’s Achievers Under 40 in May 2011 and received the Rotarian of the Year Award from the Rotary Club of Miami Brickell in July of 2014.
