Mariana Seixas is a director, senior counsel of SoftBank Investment Advisers, where she oversees legal matters for the SoftBank Latin America Fund, a venture capital fund that has deployed more than $7.5 bn in growth-stage tech companies across Latin America. In this capacity, Mariana leads negotiations for new and follow-on investments and strategic transactions, works closely with the legal and compliance teams of the fund’s portfolio companies on portfolio management and manages other fund activities. She brings more than ten years of legal experience leading corporate transactions across Latin America, with an emphasis on Brazil. Prior to joining SoftBank, she was a senior associate at White & Case, where she worked at the firm’s Miami and São Paulo offices. Mariana has a B.A. from the University of Virginia and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was executive editor of the Virginia Law Review. She has spoken at several International Bar Association conferences on matters relating to venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and sustainability, and she is a lecturer on diversity and inclusion and the empowerment of women.
