Leadership must inspire confidence and remain calm, especially during periods of instability. Establishing a clear plan of action with specific expectations for each team member is key. Legal strategy must be aligned to business strategy. Legal must understand the business strategy and anticipate the future actions that the business will take, to proactively identify risks and put mitigation plans in place.

In your opinion, what are the main trends affecting your work now?

Shifts in the healthcare market, pricing and public policy are affecting how manufacturers think about their business and growth prospects. In addition, administrative agencies’ prolific rulemaking and changes in long-standing positions over the past 3-4 years has increased the burden on legal departments and costs on businesses.

What strategic priorities are guiding your legal team into 2025?

Establishing a more effective and efficient service delivery model that anticipates the needs of the business and delivers a superior experience. Organising the function so it can be scaled.
