How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience? 

In the aviation industry, issues arise unexpectedly—whether regulatory, economic, or operational. This demands a highly responsive and strategic legal approach. Our team must be quick-thinking, with a proactive risk management mindset that ensures compliance while maintaining operational flexibility. Beyond managing risks, we focus on supporting our internal clients, enabling them to successfully implement their projects, always keeping our passengers and cargo customers in mind. Ensuring their safety, service reliability, and regulatory protection is embedded in our legal strategy. Rather than simply reacting to challenges, we work to offer solutions for the business to move forward. In your opinion, what are the main trends affecting your work now?

The legal landscape in aviation is evolving rapidly, shaped by regulatory developments, economic pressures, technological advancements, and shifting political priorities. To name a few, the use of AI, cybersecurity regulations, and data privacy laws are reshaping how we operate. Meanwhile, sustainability and ESG compliance are not just regulatory requirements, but key to LATAM’s commitment to leading by example.
