Francesca Gori’s career at Accenture began in Italy in 2006 as employment law lead for Italy, Greece, Central and Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Then after expanding her responsibilities, she became regional lead for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region in 2015. She was eager to gain a deeper international experience, hence she moved to the Middle East permanently in 2016. Here, she took up the role of managing director, leading a team of over 40 in-house lawyers in the process. Francesca is keen to use her role to advance progressive causes in addition to achieving great legal feats. ‘When I moved to the Middle East I found an abundance of talented women’, she explains. ‘It also gave me an opportunity to pursue my goal and passion of advancing gender equality, especially in the UAE and KSA. At Accenture, we have worked hard to launch initiatives that support women such as providing fresh female law graduates in KSA with internships within Accenture that will help them secure permanent legal roles in the future. Our legal team also played an essential role in ensuring the success of Accenture’s first digital studio in KSA, which aims to encourage a gender-balanced environment’. Her role itself has involved plenty of notable successes too: ‘I have been exposed to some of Accenture’s largest and most critical legal review and analysis cases in the region and globally. It has proven to be a great learning experience that is exciting, inspiring and challenging every single day’.
