The AME regional legal team of Standard Chartered Bank is managed by Karl Rogers, who joined the Bank in August 2010 from Norton Rose law firm, where he was a partner in their Dubai office. Karl started his legal career with Freshfields, where he qualified. He practiced in their London and New York offices.
Karl has spent more than two decades building and leading in-house legal teams at several international investment banks in London, the United States (New York, Boston, and San Francisco) and Dubai.
Karl is the chairman of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Middle East Committee, who are instrumental in promoting the interest and concerns of the derivatives industry across the region.
Karl is also a member of Dubai International Financial Centre Authority Legislative Committee which reviews and approves legislation in the jurisdiction.
Karl is a member of the Global Legal Management Team and Regional Management Team of AME at Standard Chartered.
