Khalid Khan is the new Head of Legal at Seddiqi Holding. Among other things, Seddiqi Holding owns Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, the luxury watch and jewellery distributor.
Khalid has more than two decades of legal experience across the UK and the Middle East. This includes private practice roles (in international law firms, such as Pinsent Masons, Reed Smith Richards Butler, and Dentons), and as head of legal for leading Middle Eastern multinational and family-owned businesses (such as The Zubair Corporation (Oman), Gulf Investment Corporation (Kuwait), GEMS Education (UAE), and MH Alshaya Co (Kuwait)).
Khalid has strong corporate and commercial experience. He was previously a Parliamentary Assistant at the House of Commons for a former UK Secretary of State and has worked at the European Commission in Brussels. He is an English qualified solicitor, and has an LLB (Honours) degree from Leeds Metropolitan University, an LLM from King’s College, London, and an MA in Administration from the College d’Europe in Bruges.
He has won a number of awards, including Innovative In-House Team of the Year (Asian Legal Business/The Brief Middle East Legal Awards in 2012); Middle East General Counsel of the Year (ACC/Legal Week in 2017); and was named in the Legal 500’s GC Powerlist: Middle East in 2017 and 2019.
