A versed and diverse multi award-winning experienced business advisor, head of legal and board member, Yosr moved in-house early on in her career and played a key part in establishing and managing the legal, compliance and ombuds functions across the Middle East in one of the top research and advisory companies globally.
She is a big champion of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and creating opportunities for one another especially those who come from under-represented backgrounds. She is an advocate of authentic and inclusive leadership, mentorship, sponsorship and believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change within communities.
Yosr co-established and co-leads her firm’s Legal and Compliance Inclusion Council and serves on the Board of Mosaic at Gartner and Women at Gartner Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). She was on the advisory board of the In-House Community and Women in Business Law Awards, and currently sits on the advisory board of Emirates Legal Network and Juris Center of Excellence for Middle Sex Dubai Law School. She also serves as a board of director for the ACC MENA Chapter and is on the leadership of Women in the House, International Legal Affairs and New to In-House Networks.
Yosr has been an active volunteer since an early age and learns by practice. She serves as a mentor and captain with Gartner Crew program (a peer-to-peer internal mentorship program) and with several organisations and initiatives to contribute to the efforts to enhance levels of DEIB within the legal community. She has supported over 20 mentees globally and helped create and establish over five mentorship programs in and outside her employers’ organisations.
She is also a proud caregiver and a vocal advocate to her only son who is diagnosed with a rare disease called Lissencephaly; he has several other conditions including dystonia, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. He is her partner in all things DEIB, and they are both on a journey to change the dynamics and narrative of gender equity and the inclusiveness of the disability community, people of determination and everyone with visible or invisible disabilities, and create a world as it should be, where all differences are celebrated.
