How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?
Here’s how I approach this, I assess the situation and identify legal risks. I develop a crisis management plan, strengthen contractual protections and manage litigation and disputes. Communicating effectively is also key, as well as ensuring compliance and regulatory adherence. I also leverage legal technology and tools, focusing on organisational resilience.
What are the main cases or transactions that you have been involved in recently?
In a recent transaction; an acquisition of one of the companies, I was the lead legal advisor and oversaw the due diligence process, negotiated terms and conditions, drafted and reviewed acquisition agreements, and coordinated with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance. In the sale and leaseback of commercial property, I drafted and negotiated sale and leaseback agreements, coordinated due diligence and facilitated the closing process. I’ve also been involved in providing legal counsel on employee termination and severance packages, negotiated settlement agreements and managed litigation if necessary.
What is a topic of business (or otherwise) that you are passionate about?
One topic I’m really passionate about is the intersection of technology and sustainability. The way emerging technologies can drive environmental conservation and create more sustainable practices is fascinating. For instance, innovations like renewable energy sources, smart grids, and sustainable supply chain technologies have the potential to address some of the biggest challenges we face in environmental preservation. The idea of leveraging technology not just for efficiency and profit, but to make a positive impact on the planet, is incredibly exciting.
