Another recent order, worth around $26m, was signed which will see the company supply Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) at the first integrated solar combined cycle power plant in Saudi Arabia. In yet a further large deal, an order worth around $40m was received from a leading contracting company in the region to supply high voltage GIS to help address increasing electricity demand and support economic development in Qatar. The legal team also assisted the company to complete a third party channel agreement with turnkey solutions provider Site Technology to help develop commercial uninterruptible power supply services in the UAE. The legal team engages in a concerted effort to support ABB’s global strategy for profitable growth and market penetration, in order to be a partner to the business rather than a ‘watchdog’. Along with this, they always take the necessary legal steps to make sure business activities are in compliance with the regulatory requirements of different jurisdictions.
