About

Qatari Diar Vinci Construction (QDVC) was established in 2007 as a joint venture between Qatari Diar, a real-estate development company and Vinci Construction, a civil engineering and design company currently active in 40 countries. Its in-house legal department is led by general counsel, corporate secretary, ethics and compliance officer Olivier Sulik. The team is responsible for overseeing mega development projects such as the Doha Metro: Red Line South contract, which comprises of the design and construction of the underground works below central Doha, including five underground stations and construction of 32 km tunnels. The project started in 2013 and will be completed in 2018. The in-house legal team was also instrumental in the The New Orbital Highway Contract 2, which consists of the construction of 47 km of motorways, five dual lanes for light vehicles, two dual lanes for trucks, six viaducts, 17 bridges and underpasses. The legal team’s expertise and knowledge in construction law and local regulations as well as making sure no detail is overlooked is enabling the company to enter into long term large design and build infrastructure projects, either public or private. The strength of the QDVC legal team is apparent from its ability to successfully mitigate the risks associated with long-term mega projects.
