Engie’s market for power and water in the Middle East is both immense and growing, with the UAE alone projected to increase its electricity requirements by up to 40% between 2016 and 2020. Paul Kirkby and his five-person team have been instrumental in closing some monumental deals for the company in recent years, leading to them being regarded among the very best in the Middle East. Among these, it played a major part in the closure of the first major integrated water and power plant project in Kuwait and the partial divestment of the Sohar and Al Hidd Power Stations in Oman and Bahrain respectively.
