In the last two years the internal legal team of Macsteel International Holdings has been involved in a corporate restructuring and several M&A’s, handling all of the legal matters throughout the negotiations up to completion. The team is responsible for all commercial and maritime legal matters for the company as well as any auxiliary legal issues related to its corporate governance. Tsim Wharton is the group general counsel and leads the legal team, and as the lead lawyer in a major international steel trading and shipping company, relies on excellent management and organisational skills in overseeing a team of two experienced lawyers. As a leader, Wharton has excelled at captaining the ship as the team relocated from London to Dubai, and continues to keep legal matters on an even keel.
