What are the projects that you are most proud of working on over the past 12 months?
I am proud of getting many great things done with a relatively small team, serving a complex organisation with many different (legal) fields and areas of expertise; aligning the members of a growing legal department to work closely together and exchange specific knowledge and experience; and evolving the role of the general counsel as a trusted adviser to the board.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on that you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful of?
Digital transformation and AI are topics that we should not only be mindful of, but also embrace and implement to optimise the work of the legal department – both in service of the department itself and the wider business.
What is a cause, business or otherwise, that you are passionate about?
I am passionate about fostering equality and respect within the department and across the organisation.
