What do you think are the most important attributes for a modern in-house counsel to possess?
A modern in house counsel should first and foremost be pragmatic. You should carefully pick your battles and accept that a legally perfect solution often does not exist in the business world. Think as and with the business and be part of the decision making, that will create trust and increase ability to influence. Do not be afraid of trying new things including tools and technologies, as well as legal approaches.
Based on your experiences in the past year, are there any trends in the legal or business world that you are keeping an eye on, of which you think other in-house lawyers should be mindful?
Of course – as most people I assume – the usage of AI in its various forms, both in our own work, but also its impact in our business.
