The CWG legal team is responsible for furnishing legal and regulatory guidance to CWG across multiple jurisdictions, namely Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Cameroon, and Dubai. Over the past year, the team has been actively engaged in various significant transactions. This involvement encompasses the establishment of the company’s fintech startup subsidiary, where the legal and compliance framework for that division was meticulously crafted. Additionally, the team successfully oversaw a share capital reconstruction exercise for the group.

Furthermore, the legal team concluded strategic and intricate contracts for software licensing and technical support across five countries. They also forged strategic partnerships with entities in diverse sectors, including financial services, telecommunications, energy, and the public sector. In navigating the legal landscape, the team provided invaluable advice on prevailing and evolving regulations pertinent to the group. Notable legislations include the business facilitation act 2023, The Nigerian Data Protection Act 2023, the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 (Uganda), and considerations related to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters.
