Edward Imoedemhe is the acting company secretary and general counsel of Dangote Cement. He was the deputy company secretary and legal adviser of Dangote Cement (DCP), a position he held from June 29, 2018, until his recent appointment on November 21, 2022.
Edward supports the board’s effectiveness and corporate governance practices. He guides the directors concerning their duties, responsibilities and powers; and ensures compliance with procedures and regulations necessary for the conduct of the affairs of the board. In addition, Edward attends and acts as secretary to all committee meetings.
He is a chartered secretary, chartered arbitrator, and member of the Society of Corporate Governance. His over 25 years of experience spans the manufacturing, telecommunications, oil and gas, and shipping industries, covering company secretarial practice, governance and corporate affairs administration, dispute resolutions, international commercial transactions and legal advisory to company management and the boards. Edward has a master’s degree in Maritime and Commercial Law.
