What are the most significant cases and transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
We have been involved in a number of transactions, including business restructuring, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance, and real estate development.
Could you share an example of a time when you came up with an innovation that improved how your legal team works and did not come at a large expense?
The team is constantly innovating to drive efficiency and meet the demands of our various stakeholders. Most of these efforts involve unlocking untapped team abilities, deploying, and maximising the use of currently existing IT infrastructure.
As a general counsel, how do you anticipate and prepare for potential legal and regulatory challenges that may arise, particularly in light of emerging technologies and evolving business landscapes?
As a team serving businesses in the dynamic hospitality industry and the ever-evolving power sector, keeping abreast of and being on top of commercial, legal, and regulatory developments is key to delivering value to our various stakeholders. We collaborate with the businesses, the relevant markets, and regulators towards achieving overall corporate goals.
In your role, how do you balance the need to protect the organisation’s interests today while also considering legal implications and opportunities that may arise in the future?
Our approach to legal service delivery is founded on the business mantra – building to last. In serving our businesses, our focus is not only on the law but also on the overall commercial and strategic objectives.
