Avinor Group has a dual purpose as the operator of a network of 45 airports across Norway and the national air navigation service for civilian and military aviation, with 12 airports operated in connection with the Norwegian Armed Forces. Avinor is a public owned limited liability company and is self-financed through public listings on the Norwegian and Luxembourg stock exchanges. Erik Skotland is the group’s head of legal and oversees a legal team expert in company law, M&A, transactions, insurance law, real estate law, contract law, competition law, procurement law, aviation law and civil litigation. In the last year, Avinor group’s legal team has been busy with a number of projects including the bidding process and awarding of a contractor to build a new airport at Bodø, a project that has a budget of NOK 6.5m and is projected for completion by 2026. Additionally, the team has worked on contracts and other legal matters for the testing and implementation of autonomous snow clearing vehicles at Oslo Airport and others across its network.
