Selvaag Bolig is a large housing development company with several thousand homes under development throughout Norway. During the course of this year’s research, private practice nominators were full of praise for how the company’s legal function expertly managed the full range of legal issues affecting the company with close alignment to senior management. Legal director Erlend Rølles has been with the business since July 2012 and therefore has accumulated extensive experience of the firm’s operations and is perfectly placed to guide the legal function successfully. The legal function is credited for working on a number of land sales and purchases and transactions related to building new modern housing for Norwegian residents. In 2017, for instance, Selvaag Bolig sold 814 homes worth around NOK 3.6bn in total and entered into a contract with Ferd Real Estate in September of that year worth NOK 1.6bn on the development of 315 homes at the Tiedemann property in Ensjø, Oslo. More recently in September 2018 the team oversaw the agreement with Veidekke to build residential units for Selvaag and Ferd in Oslo.
