About

Described as ‘very strong’ and ‘skilled and experienced’ by nominators during this year’s research, the Group Tax legal team of Statkraft – a major hydropower company owned by the Norwegian state – has caught the attention of a number of industry peers. Senior vice president and head of group tax, Lars Henie, who has been with the firm since 2014, was described as simply ‘brilliant’ by nominators for his contribution towards and management of the team dedicated to overseeing Statkraft’s tax affairs from a legal point of view. This ‘highly specialised and effective team’, which has evolved in recent years to be more closely involved in business processes as well as gaining in technical expertise, is credited for assisting the company on numerous complex transactions and litigations nationally and internationally. One nominator was particularly keen to highlight the credentials of the team: ‘The Statkraft Tax team consist of a number of highly skilled lawyers, which are experts in everything from economy, to international tax law and transfer pricing. They are also a pleasure to work together with. The Statkraft Tax team is well organised and managed, and includes professionals with long experience and broad skills within their scope of services. Each of the team members possesses theoretical skills, and also have a practical approach’.
