What are the most significant cases and transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
We worked on the landing of a corporation, working on every aspect of this transaction with the assistance of outside counsel from start to finish.
How do you feel the pandemic has changed the world of work for in-house counsel and the function of the general counsel?
One of the biggest changes was adjusting to virtual work which was quite challenging in the beginning. Now, we can see that it has positively impacted on the workforce and our work output. Remote work is accepted as valued by employees and employers alike.
What are some of the key developments – legal, geopolitical or otherwise – that have affected your business over the past year?
The increase and frequency of different regulations in so many countries, as well as economic instability around the world has been one of the leading factors affecting business as usual.
Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?
I predict that artificial intelligence will replace lawyers regarding standardised work and will be subject to only minimal review by lawyers.
