Focus on the journey of a legal eagle

Miguel Angel Raygada Castillo, a legal eagle, graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Mr. Raygada has completed two master’s degrees, the first in Strategic Business Administration and the second in Banking and Financial Law, both at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

Having obtained the General Business Studies Certificate at UCLA Extension and the Fintech Talent Program at Utrecht University, he studied aboard in USA and the Netherlands, respectively. Having advised the financial institutions on complex local and international transactions, some of which amounted to hundreds and billions of US dollars, he became a recognised expert in financial regulation, legal risk management, contracting and financing.

With an extensive experience in the Banking Industry, he currently leads the legal division and the General Secretariat of Banco GNB Perú S.A. and represents his company in the Association of Banks of Peru (ASBANC), whilst serving as Vice-Chairman of the Ethics and People Relations Committee, and member of the Regulatory Affairs Committee of Banco GNB Peru’s banking union.

He was also a member of the consultative commissions on real rights, contracts, financial and banking law of the Lima Bar Association. Mr. Raygada is also a passionate writer. He co-authored the book ‘Legal Risk Management’ published by Centrum PUCP and Cengage Learning as well as the book ‘Peruvian International Trade Law’ published by Palestra Editores and Tirant Lo Blanch.

His new book about digital mortgage loans is currently in press. He also helps shape legal education for future generations by having taught law students as a university professor in the past.
