What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?

The biggest challenge we have faced is the alignment of key stakeholders with both legal and compliance obligations, which implies a change of mindset and way of working at various levels.

Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?

I feel that the digitisation and virtualisation of most processes at both the operational and regulatory level will positively impact the function of the in-house teams, allowing them to shorten timeframes, maximise available resources, and focus on what really matters to the business, which is providing our clients with what they need in a compliant manner.

Diversity and synergy of skills among colleagues and business partners, leveraging our diverse experiences and cultures, and staying aligned with environmental, social and governance (ESG) best practices.
