What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?
The year 2022 was the first year of operation of Banco Bci Perú, and one of the key challenges that we faced as a newly established bank was building trust and credibility among society, customers and regulators.
To overcome this challenge, we focused on several aspects. First, we worked on our transparency and communication of our services, policies, cloud technology and cyber security measures to potential customers. Second, we built financial products at competitive rates and offered an agile platform to attend our customer needs. Additionally, we invested in effective marketing and communication campaigns that helped us to raise awareness and build a positive brand image in the market, and finally we worked really hard to recruit the best talent in the market.
Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?
Mostly, I believe that technology developments in the legal operations arena will impact the role of in-house legal teams the most in the future. I think that we have the opportunity to make improvements and efficiency in this area. For example, artificial intelligence and machine learning can be utilised to automate repetitive and time-consuming tasks; legal analytics can be used to identify trends in the banking industry and to make more informed decisions; and security tools can be used to protect client information.
