What has been the number one challenge that has impacted you over the past year?

The number one challenge last year was to meet the requirements of our user areas, seeking to prioritise their assignments according to their level of urgency, given that our team had various challenges that demanded growth and deep integration, to be able to meet, not only the requirements of our legal area itself, but also those of an administrative nature that became part of our day-to-day subject, due to the trust that has been placed in it. Also, within the course of the year, we had challenges in terms of contracts, clients, negotiation and growth that led us to seek increasingly innovative and multidimensional solutions to evolve as a support area of the company.

Looking forward, what technological advancements do you feel will impact the role of in-house legal teams in the future the most?

Totally, digitisation, is every day more integrated, with our legal team being able to have most of the documentation online available to the worker at any time, which creates new challenges, because the speed in dealing with pending requests must be proportional to the speed with which we have the information, without (significantly) sacrificing the quality of the work.

What is a cause, business related or otherwise, that you care about, and why?

I am not worried, but it intrigues me, the new technological revolution in which we are entering, each time machinery replicate more human functions, in such a way that the latter will have to acquire new capacities or perhaps they will merge with the same ones, so that what a few years ago might have seemed extraordinary, in a few years it will be nothing more than something common and natural, and all of us are legal operators or we will not have to face the challenges of this new era.
