How do you approach managing legal aspects during periods of instability or crises, and how does your legal strategy align with the broader business strategy to ensure the organisation’s resilience?

During periods of instability or crisis, as the legal manager, I promptly organise meetings with different departments of the company to gather their main concerns and the issues that could impact the organisation. Afterwards, I create a risk map to present to the CEO and the rest of the managers, outlining the challenges we are facing. The legal strategy is integrated into the various working groups that are formed, providing swift and efficient support to address and mitigate risks.

What emerging technologies do you see as having the most significant impact on the legal profession in the near future, and how do you stay updated on these developments?

Without a doubt, artificial intelligence is poised to have a substantial impact on the legal profession, streamlining tasks such as legal research, contract analysis, and document review. Additionally, blockchain technology may enhance security and transparency in legal transactions.

On the other hand, virtual meetings enable faster interactions between departments, companies, and institutions, fostering the exchange of ideas and experiences, strengthening legal knowledge, and exploring new strategies. Overall, these emerging technologies are likely to reshape how legal professionals operate in the near future.

How do you prioritise diversity and inclusion within your legal department, and what initiatives have you implemented to foster a more inclusive and equitable work environment?

In your opinion, what are the main trends that are salient in your country currently?

Some trends in the insurance market may include increased digitalisation, a focus on Insurtech solutions, and a growing awareness of the importance of insurance. That is why cyber risk insurance will start to develop even more. On the other hand, given the potential risk of an earthquake in Peru, we see many companies, as clients, considering coverage for natural disasters.
