In-house lawyers not only provide guidance and address risks, but they drive change that strengthens standards in corporate governance, compliance, and ethical conduct, leading to an improved culture of integrity and responsible business practices.

How do you suggest in-house lawyers build strong relationships with business partners?

Communication and collaboration. Making business partners understand and participate in the process leads to the immediate and precise resolution of issues. It allows the organisation to be more agile to the changes in the business and the market – proper to the term, that they are ‘partners’ and not just customers.

If existent, can you talk about you or your company’s efforts on renewability, sustainability or other environmentally friendly activities?

Our in-house team has taken an active role in caring for the people and the planet, one of the organisation’s core values. CIC is at the forefront of complying with the recently passed extended producer responsibility law of the Philippines. Processes and policies have been implemented to adequately manage plastic packaging waste and increase the use of recycled materials.
