How do you motivate and manage your legal team well?
I do that by ensuring that my teammates are empowered, involved, and encouraged to have a sense of ownership over their roles and workstreams. I put my trust in them, and I let them know it. In our team, we keep open lines of communication, practice transparency, and maintain a culture of accountability; and all that starts with me, as their manager and leader.
Finally, even as we are colleagues, we are also friends. We spend at least 8 hours a day with each other– an enjoyable, positive, and fun work environment spells a big difference in job satisfaction, morale, and productivity.
