Ana Paula Reis is a seasoned legal professional with a wealth of experience in corporate governance, compliance, and legal management. Currently, she holds the position of legal director at Cimpor, where she also serves as the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Compliance Officer. She is a member of the Portugal & Cape Verde Management Committee and the corporate Compliance, Internal Audit, and Risk Committee at Cimpor Global Holdings. 

Throughout her career, Ana Paula has played a crucial role in various corporate transactions and negotiations. Notably, she contributed to the acquisition of Cimpor’s assets by the International Fund Ordu Yardimlsama Kurumu (OYAK) from the former Brazilian shareholder. As legal director, she is responsible for coordinating and overseeing legal affairs in Portugal and Africa, providing support to the Board of Directors and management. 

Ana Paula’s legal expertise extends across multiple areas, including corporate/M&A, governance, contract negotiation, labor law, environmental regulations, competition law, and banking/finance. She has served as Chairman and Secretary of general meetings and has been involved in compliance monitoring, corporate rule drafting, and corporate governance. 

In her previous role as Legal Superintendent of Europe & Africa companies at Cimpor, Ana Paula managed legal activities in Portugal, Spain, Cape Verde, Egypt, Mozambique, and South Africa. She provided legal support for group restructuring, stock market matters, financial transactions, and litigation. She also played a pivotal role in strategic decision-making as a member of the Management Committee of BU Portugal & Cape Verde. 

Earlier in her career, Ana Paula held the position of Legal Director at Cimpor, where she worked closely with various countries, including Portugal, Spain, Cape Verde, Morocco, Tunisia, and Mozambique. She was responsible for creating and managing an IT platform for dispute management, contract oversight, and corporate governance. 

Ana Paula is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association, and she has pursued additional training and education to enhance her skills. She holds a degree in Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa and has completed specialised programs in information security management, management and leadership, and port sector regulation. Ana Paula is fluent in English, proficient in French and Spanish, and a native Portuguese speaker. 

With her extensive legal expertise, leadership experience, and multilingual abilities, Ana Paula Reis is a valuable asset in the corporate legal landscape, ensuring compliance, providing strategic guidance, and supporting the growth and success of the organisations she serves.
