Throughout your career, what principles or values have guided your approach to leadership and decision-making within the legal department, and how do you believe they have contributed to your success?

My approach is firmly anchored in my core values: curiosity, readiness to learn, and a business-oriented mindset have been pivotal throughout my career. My enduring objective is to serve as a trusted strategic business partner to the organization. This involves not only a comprehensive understanding of the specific laws and regulations impacting my company’s activities, but also maintaining a business perspective that enables nuanced and actionable legal advice.

As someone who has achieved remarkable success in the legal profession, what advice would you offer to aspiring general counsels or young legal professionals seeking to make a meaningful impact in their careers?

My recommendation would be: 1) never stop learning: laws evolve, and so should your knowledge. Look for learning opportunities that allow you to “connect the dots”; 2) Understand “your” business and develop strong professional relationships, based on mutual trust and 3) communicate effectively: clear, concise communication, allow your internal clients to grasp and understand complicated legal advice.
