What are the most significant cases or transactions that your legal team has recently been involved in?
Following the approval of TAP restructuring plan by the European Commission on December 20, 2021, the legal team has been working on an extensive and complex set of M&A transactions that are targeted to be completed by December 2025.
The team is also preparing the legal work streams for the future privatisation of the company, that has been announced by the Portuguese State, the single shareholder of the TAP.
What would you say are the unique qualities required to be successful as an in-house lawyer in your industry?
Being able to work in a fast-paced environment, strong legal skills and wide experience of working in complex transactions with demanding stakeholders, full understanding of the business needs.
How have you fostered a closer collaboration between the legal department and your business counterparts?
Establishing trustful work relationships with business counterparts, to ensure the alignment of the common goals of the company among peers, working towards the same objectives.
