A specialist in the oil and gas, natural resources and energy sectors, Akshai Fofaria has built a successful practice advising important clients in a number of different African states. Having worked on a number of thermal and hydroelectric projects in the continent, he is particularly adept at dispensing advice regarding the full investment cycle on energy projects and transactions, from framework arrangements with states in which the projects will be set up, through to exploration, production and marketing. Fofaria has advised sovereign states and several companies in over 30 countries across Africa and beyond. His dedication to Africa matters extend to activities outside law practice; he regularly runs workshops for African regulators on natural resources transactions, and is a visiting lecturer in mining law at the French School of Mines.
