Over the course of his 35 year career at Shearman & Sterling, Stuart Fleischmann has worked on a number of prominent debt and equity offerings involving Mexican and Latin American companies. Now a partner in the firm’s Capital Markets Group, Fleischmann is regularly involved in a wide range of novel securitizations and other transactions. His practice sees him working with clients from a number of sectors, though he has particular expertise in advising banks and other financial institutions in a wide range of securities offerings. In 2012 he led the Shearman & Sterling capital markets team advising on the largest ever IPO in Mexico, Banco Santander’s listing of its Mexican subsidiary on the New York and Mexican Stock Exchanges. More recently, in 2015 he was a key part of the team representing a number of banks, as transaction managers, in connection with Mexican state oil company Pemex’s $6bn sale of debt securities, the first offering by a Latin American issuer in 2015. Subsequently, last year, he advised the banks acting as managers on a further $5.5bn sale of debt securities by the company. Fleischmann sits on the boards of various chamber of commerce organizations and is a member of the Committee of International Affairs and the Committee of Structured Finance at the New York City Bar Association.
