A shareholder at Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office, Antonio Peña has extensive experience in the US, Spain and Mexico. Prior to joining the firm, Peña served as general counsel at major Mexican financial institution, Banamex. He has also held a number of board positions, including at the Spain-United States Chamber of Commerce, the United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce and the Make-a-Wish Foundation in Florida. Peña regularly represents strategic investors and private equity funds in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, financings, restructurings and other corporate matters throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. In Mexico, his standout matters include representing a number of global corporations including Mastercard Inc. in its 50/50 joint venture with Telefonica; representing Grupo Prisa in the purchase of a majority interest in V-Me Media; representing Equity International in its initial investment into Terranum Hotels and then subsequent acquisition; and Global Infrastructure Partners in the $728m purchase of a 49.9% interest in Empresa Electrica Guacolda.
