Co-chair of Winston & Strawn’s Latin America practice, Allen Miller has an especially strong standing in capital markets transactions, including high-yield debt issuances by Mexican issuers. ‘A giant of the Latin America market’, Miller represents a number of major companies in Mexico and Chile. Recent Mexican clients include TV Azteca, Banco Azteca, and Grupo Elektra; he also has a particularly strong record in power, renewables and infrastructure. Clients regard Miller as an ‘outstanding attorney’ who ‘has an excellent sense of balance, with a broad and strategic perspective, but a mind which can also focus on details, if needed’; he is ‘very reliable, intelligent, trustworthy and has outstanding negotiation skills’. Clients also recognise his ability bridge cultural gaps thanks to his understanding of the Latin America market and the unique characteristics of businesses that are based there. In 2017, he worked alongside fellow New York partner Claude Serfilippi to advise TV Azteca, the Mexican media company on its $400m senior notes offering on the Singapore Stock Exchange. While best known for his capital markets experience, Miller is gaining greater recognition for his expertise in M&A and corporate reorganisations.
